Alleged bandit killed in encounter
KARACHI: An alleged bandit was killed during police encounter in FB Area within the limits of Yousuf Plaza police station. The incident took place in Block 16 of FB Area near Karachi Heart Diseases Hospital where Shafiq was drawing cash from an ATM, when an armed man reached and trying to snatch the cash from him. After hear the hue and cry two police cop, who were performing security duty in the hospital, reached on the scene. When bandit saw to police he opens firing and try to flee. Resultantly police also open firing and the bandit received bullet injuries and died on the spot. DSP Saleem Akhtar said the bandit, identified as Ramiz, 22; was the resident of Nazimabad and was arrested several times in Taimoria, North Nazimabad and Paposh Nagar police station. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico legal formalities and later handed over to his family. staff report
