AUSTIN - The Houston area could see two high school state basketball championship winner on Saturday when the Yates Lions and the Fort Bend Travis Tigers take the floor at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.

Yates will take the floor at 3:30 against Dallas Kimball, a team they beat in 2009 for their first of back-to-back state titles. The Lions topped Denton Ryan on Thursday 87-67 behind 26 points from Damion Dotson and 18 points from Clyde Santee. A victory would clinch the third state championship in four years.

Travis is in the state final for the first time in school history after their 85-72 win over San Antonio Northside Warren on Friday. Aaron Harrison led all scores with 30 points and senior John Burnett chipped in 17, 15 of which came from behind the arc. Their game is scheduled to start at 8:30 on Saturday night.

KHOU 11 Sports reporter Daniel Gotera is there and has a preview of championship Saturday.
